Learning to be a Warrior: Session 2, David God's Warrior

I believe the greatest difference between a soldier in God's kingdom and his warrior's is the heart. So today I want to look at David a man after Gods own heart and one of his greatest warriors.

David's heart made him a warrior. But let's frist look at some famous moments in David's life to get a kind of grasp on David. Now I know David wasn't perfect. None of us are. But his heart and overall story shows us one of true devotion and a warrior spirit.

Acts 13:12

Psalm 26:1-12

1 Samuel 16:13

Reading these what thoughts come to mind about David? When I read of David I just always get amazed at how he never stops and God is always using him through out his life. Even though he messed up at times. I think his heart never stops beating like a warriors. Now let's look at moments that I believe showcase his warriors heart.

1 Samuel 17:1-58  (David and Goliath)

1 Samuel Chapter 24 (David doesn't kill Saul)

2 Samuel 6:14 (David dances)

After reading both of the above sections do you see what makes David a warrior?

Do have any similarities to David?

What do you think made David a warrior?

Learning to be a Warrior: What is a Warrior

Welcome to session 1 of Learning to be a Warrior! I'm glad you have decided to join me in the this study! I hope God speaks to you during this time. If you have questions about anything you read here today please feel free to email me at Ingmanwifey@gmail.com

Ok so if you know my style of speaking it's very much rooted in the definition of key words. I believe God can speak to us in a very powerful way through the meaning he has given words. So we will start there today. The definition of a Warrior. Let's look at that now.

Warrior (noun)

A brave or experienced fighter
                 Or
A person engaged or experienced in warfare

To me the is was a wow moment! How many of us feel like we are experiencing or are experienced in spiritual warfare or the warfare of life!! I know I do! I know personally I have had many visions of spiritual warriors and myself among them. These types of visions have come in hard times in my life. I like often we become accustomed to fighting in our faith. But I dont necessarily think that makes us warriors. We maybe be expecting or in a fight, but that doesn't mean we are experienced in warfare. A boxer can fight but he isnt a warrior. He is a boxer. He can fight, but his type of fighting does not fit on the battlefield. And that's where the warriors come in. Warriors know what to do, the call they have is warfare. And they find the fight more important than themselves. To be honest most of cant say that. And that OK! Not all are called to be warriors. And again that's ok!! I use to have friends in the military and they all had different jobs. Some worked in a warehouse, some worked on helicopters, some were the guys kicking In  doors and doing battle.

But the ones called to do battle had a different mindset then the others. They mission was more important than themselves. They trained differently than the others. They had different skill sets. And that's the same with a warrior. You will have different skill sets. They will be God given. He will train you harder than anyone else. That way you are experienced in warfare and you can be brave in those moments. Warriors I believe have the ear of God in a completely different way then his other children. Because the warriors protect their brothers and sisters. At this moment I'm thinking of prayer warriors. They stand in the gap for so many. That they have to stay on guard all the time because they are always in battle. They are always praying for many people. It's not a job for just anyone, but a specific spiritual gift.

Below are various veres I want you all to read and pray over. Also I want you to read about king David. Because I believe he was one of Gods true Warriors. You find his story in 1st and 2nd Samuel. Next week we will be looking more into David's life and how he was God Warrior.

Ephesians 6:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

2 Samuel 10:12 Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight.

Isaiah 42:13

The LORD will go forth like a warrior, He will arouse His zeal like a man of war He will utter a shout, yes, He will raise a war cry He will prevail against His enemies.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope this was a blessing and helped you to see the difference that a warrior has. I look forward to seeing you all next week when we look at a biblical example of a warrior.

Learning to be a Warrior bible study: Welcome

Good afternoon!

I'm excited to announce that I will be turning  this blog into a bible study platform. Each month I will have a new bible study for you to follow and learn from!

For years I have been called to write bible studies, speak in churches and share God with this world. And after years of healing and prayer I am finally ready to walk into that calling. And that is exactly what this study will help you do, walk into your calling with a fierce warrior like spirit. This study will be a four week study on this blog. I hope you follow the study and become the warrior you were called to be! Welcome to the "Becoming a Warrior" bible study. I will see you all Sunday!

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ...

Follow me so you never miss a thing!
